Originally from Puglia, in southern Italy, the piece dates from the mid to late 19th century, a period in which these vessels were made by local artisans for everyday domestic use. Its form reflects the longstanding ceramic traditions of the region, where practicality and craftsmanship coexisted naturally. The bird-beak spout is not only functional but also gives the piece a distinctive and expressive presence.

The exterior is fully glazed with a glossy reddish-brown vitreous finish.
