Set of Two Green and White Glass Vases
$1,100.00
This pair of vases shares a harmonious color palette while differing in technique, volume, and visual language. The first features a globular body with a stable base, slender neck, and flat opening, decorated with a light green spiral over a white background, crafted in blown glass using the vetro a cannetechnique. The second takes on a more sculptural profile: a conical base supports an expanded body that tapers into a slender neck, resulting in an elegant, expressive silhouette. Its acid green surface, with a white interior, was achieved through the incamiciato glass technique, giving depth and contrast to the color.
Both pieces were made in Murano, Italy, around the mid-20th century, and echo the work of studios like Fratelli Toso, Mandruzzato, or Seguso Vetri d’Arte—renowned for revitalizing Venetian glass through modern forms and bold chromatic experimentation.
The curatorial choice to pair them invites us to see glass as a living material, where artisanal blowing and interaction with light—passing through, bouncing off, or resting on the surface depending on thickness and technique—activate a constantly shifting visual experience. Glass moves beyond its functional role to become a poetic element within the contemporary scene.
In excellent condition, they’re ideal pieces to bring character and color into both contemporary compositions and more classical interiors.
