Vintage Lefton Majolica Grape Tea Service, Teapot, Creamer and Covered Sugar Bowl

$484.00

A charming three-piece majolica tea service by Lefton, including a teapot, creamer and covered sugar bowl, all sculpted in the form of richly clustered purple grapes with vibrant green leaves and naturalistic vine details. Produced during the mid-20th century, the set embodies the whimsical fruit-form ceramics that became highly popular in American decorative arts during the 1950s and 1960s.

The sculptural modeling and glossy hand-painted glazes create a striking presentation from every angle, while the deep grape tones contrast beautifully with the bright foliage and warm vine-inspired handles. Both decorative and functional, the ensemble displays beautifully on a shelf, bar, or tea table and represents the playful elegance for which Lefton became known.

A wonderful addition to collections of majolica, fruit-form ceramics, vintage tea ware, or wine country interiors.

Japan, circa 1950s–1960s.

Wear consistent with age and use. Minor wear to the underside from handling and display. Overall presentation remains excellent.
