Maiolica is a form of ceramic closely tied to everyday life. A glazed earthenware that historically lived in kitchens, on tables and in cupboards, meant to be used, seen and shared.
Its glossy surface allowed for color, drawing and gesture. Floral motifs, simple scenes, freehand marks. Each piece carries something of popular painting and something of the domestic object, without hierarchy. It was not made for display cases, but to accompany daily use.
Present across different cultures and territories, maiolica traveled, transformed and absorbed local accents. Hands changed, patterns and palettes shifted, yet the same intention remained: to accompany the table, to contain, to serve, to endure.
