Pair of hand-thrown jugs in two sizes, featuring twin side handles and beak-shaped pouring spouts. Originating from Puglia, southern Italy, they date from the mid to late 19th century.

Each piece is hand-painted in cobalt blue over an ivory base, with loose brushwork suggesting floral, vegetal or scroll-like forms, in keeping with the popular decorative tradition of the region. The glaze patina and visible traces of handcraft enhance their unique character.

Ideal to display together as sculptural accents on a low table, open shelf or sideboard.
