1970s Norwegian Art Glass Vase by Willy Johansson, Jade Green

A sculptural Norwegian art glass vase by Willy Johansson for Hadeland Glassverk, from the April series, circa 1970. The broad, organic body with carefully balanced proportions narrows toward a central waist before rising into a long, streamlined neck.

The jade-green glass displays variations in depth within the color, and the polished surface reflects light evenly across the form. Johansson was one of Norway's most influential postwar glass designers, and his work for Hadeland defined the country's contribution to Scandinavian Modern glass.
