Vintage Hand-Painted Spanish Ceramic Decanter and Goblet Set, 1970

A charming vintage Spanish ceramic decanter and goblet set from Puente del Arzobispo, Toledo, one of Spain’s historic pottery centers. The set is hand-painted with traditional floral motifs in green, ochre, red, and blue over a warm cream ground, with a lidded central vessel and six matching footed goblets.

Puente del Arzobispo, together with nearby Talavera de la Reina, is part of one of Spain’s most important ceramic traditions. Its pottery is known for hand-painted decoration, lively color, and forms rooted in centuries of domestic and festive use. The ceramic-making traditions of Talavera de la Reina and El Puente del Arzobispo are recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage, which gives these pieces a strong cultural and decorative value.

This set is wonderful for display on a bar, dining room cabinet, open shelf, or as part of a collection of Spanish ceramics. Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. Minor glaze variations and light surface wear are consistent with hand-painted vintage ceramics. The stopper has a couple of small chips, as shown in the photographs. Please refer to the photographs for details.
