The Della Robbia pattern takes its name from the renowned Italian Renaissance artist Luca della Robbia, whose decorative fruit swags, wreaths, and botanical motifs became enduring symbols of abundance, hospitality, and craftsmanship. While not a literal reproduction of his work, Westmoreland drew inspiration from that classical decorative vocabulary, translating it into richly embossed American art glass that remains immediately recognizable today.

Founded in Pennsylvania in the late nineteenth century, Westmoreland Glass Company became one of America’s most respected glass manufacturers, admired for combining traditional pressed-glass techniques with elegant decorative design.
