Basketry begins with the simplest gesture: weaving fibers to contain. Long before design existed, it solved domestic life with elemental intelligence: storing, carrying, arranging. Made of palm, wicker, reed or esparto, baskets accompanied markets, kitchens, harvests and trades. They do not belong to a country or a style; they belong to the house and to the act of making. Today, far from their original function, basketry reappears from another place. Not as decoration, but as a way of organizing the home through matter. Baskets contain without enclosing, arrange without hiding, and bring texture and warmth. They are minimal architecture: air, fiber and volume.
