Set of Two Contrasting Blown Glass Vases

$620.00

Pair of blown glass vases that engage in a visual dialogue through contrast between color and transparency, movement and stillness, exuberance and restraint. While they display distinct formal languages, both pieces share the technical mastery characteristic of 20th-century Murano glassmaking, where glass is treated as a living material shaped by gesture.

One vase features a classic silhouette with an elevated base and a globular body in vibrant hues of white, yellow, and marbled purple fused into swirling patterns that flow toward a rippled mouth. The technique evokes vetro a piumeor multicolored cane work, typical of the 1960s and 70s. Decorative and floral in shape, it radiates expressive energy that celebrates the gesture.

The other, in marked contrast, has a slender elongated body with a solid clear glass base and a deep purple neck. Its extreme elongation and subtle twist at the rim recall the more sculptural direction of Murano production in the 1970s and 80s, influenced by contemporary design studios. Its elegance lies in formal precision and minimalism.

Though autonomous, these two vases gain strength in dialogue. The tension between their forms, heights, and chromatic densities creates an unexpected balance. Together they enrich one another. One expands while the other concentrates. One stands out through color, the other through clarity. Their coexistence activates a sophisticated visual narrative that invites deeper contemplation.
