Elegant 1970s Murano glass bottle decorated with refined white spiral filigree, created with opaque white lattimo glass threads incorporated into a transparent glass body. The piece has a slender, sculptural silhouette with a softly tapered cylindrical form, rounded shoulders, a short neck and a wide mouth finished with a circular glass stopper or disk.

The decoration extends around the entire surface in regular diagonal lines, creating a continuous spiral movement that transforms the bottle into an almost architectural object. The contrast between the clear glass and the opaque white threads creates a subtle texture, resembling a spiral drawing suspended within the glass.

The technique is associated with vetro a fili, part of the historic Murano tradition of filigree glass. When the glass threads are twisted or arranged in a spiral, the technique is known as filigrana a retortoli. White lattimo glass rods are worked into the transparent glass while hot, a process that requires precise control of temperature, rotation and pressure during blowing in order to maintain the regularity of the spiral design.

Murano glass developed over centuries on the Venetian island of Murano, where glassmakers refined techniques known for exceptional clarity, color and decorative complexity. Filigree became one of the most recognizable contributions of Venetian glassmaking. This bottle combines the elegance of a traditional vessel with the refined graphic quality of Italian modern design.
