Exceptional antique set of seven "Days of the Week" kitchen towels, dating to circa 1920. Each towel is made from genuine vintage flour-sack cotton and features an embroidered cat engaged in a traditional domestic activity associated with its day of the week. The complete set includes Monday through Sunday.

"Days of the Week" towels were popular household textiles from the late nineteenth century through the first half of the twentieth century, each day associated with a particular household task such as washing, ironing, sewing, cleaning, baking, or Sunday rest. Together, the seven towels formed a small embroidered calendar of the week.

The towels are cream-colored rather than pure white and vary slightly in size, characteristic of textiles made from reused flour sacks. Provenance: from a grandmother carpenter estate sale, part of a historic collection of vintage household textiles.

Condition: Very good antique condition overall, with minor age-related variations and gentle wear; no significant stains, holes, or structural damage. Individual towels range approximately 13-15 in.
