Hand-thrown terracotta jug from Puglia, southern Italy, dating from the mid 19th century. The piece features a rounded globular body, short cylindrical neck, twin side handles, and a pronounced pouring spout, all characteristic of traditional domestic pottery from the region. Its softened proportions and compact scale give it a balanced sculptural presence while preserving its utilitarian origin.

The surface is covered with a warm beige glaze and decorated with hand-painted floral motifs executed in cobalt blue, burgundy, and earthy terracotta tones. The ornament belongs to the tradition of stylized floral decoration found in southern Italian folk ceramics, where flowers, leaves, and simplified vegetal forms were painted with spontaneous brushwork directly onto utilitarian vessels.
