Hall China was founded in 1903 in East Liverpool, Ohio, in one of America's major pottery-producing regions. The company developed a high-temperature, single-fire process that became its defining feature, and it built a strong reputation supplying restaurants, hotels, and institutions that needed tableware able to survive constant use.

Restaurant ware, as a category, meant dishes engineered for professional food service: vitrified bodies dense enough to resist chipping and cracking through thousands of washes. Eight identical creamers, uniform down to the glaze, is the category at its purest — form repeated until it disappears into function, then collected today for exactly that honesty.
