Victorian Burmese Glass Vases Set by Thomas Webb & Sons, England, 1890
An exceptional collection of three English art glass vessels manufactured during the Victorian era by Thomas Webb & Sons, the renowned Stourbridge glassmaker. Each piece displays the signature Burmese color transition from creamy yellow at the base to delicate pink tones along the rims, with a satin-finished surface and hand-worked rippled edges.
Burmese glass, patented in the 1880s, became one of the most celebrated art glass formulas of the Victorian period, prized for its soft, heat-sensitive gradient achieved through uranium and gold in the glass batch. Webb's English production is especially sought after by collectors.
