A striking vintage French majolica rooster-form pitcher, modeled as a crowing cockerel with an elegantly curved handle integrated into the tail. Finished in richly glazed shades of green, ochre, cream, brown, and deep red, the sculptural form displays finely modeled feathers and expressive facial details characteristic of the naturalistic majolica tradition associated with Saint-Clément. The underside bears an embossed mark.
Originally designed as a water or wine pitcher, this piece also works beautifully as a decorative accent on a kitchen shelf, dining table, or cabinet. Its bold scale and vibrant glazing make it an eye-catching example of mid-century European majolica.
