Glazed Pitcher with Bird-Beak Spout
$500.00
Terracotta pitcher with a rounded body at the base, a defined waist, and a tall neck ending in a pouring spout shaped like a bird’s beak. It features a sturdy side handle organically fused with the body.
Originally from Puglia, southern Italy, it dates from the mid to late 19th century.
The piece is fully glazed on the exterior with a glossy reddish-brown vitreous finish. The glaze has been applied by hand, with irregularities that emphasize its artisanal nature.
It bears the marks of its history. It can now be used as a vase or decorative piece.
