Set of Three Sculptural Vases in Metallic Grey Glass

$750.00

Set of three vases made of blown glass with a smoky metallic grey finish. Each piece features a distinctive silhouette: one has a spherical shape with a flat base, another is a cylindrical bottle with a sculptural twisted neck, and the third has a pierced central body resembling a hollow ellipse. The surfaces are polished and reflective, with a mirror-like sheen that enhances the visual density of the glass and its almost liquid quality.

These vases were produced in Czechoslovakia around the 1970s during a period when glass design explored pure sculptural forms, often without apparent function, and was strongly influenced by Brutalism and geometric abstraction. The craftsmanship is precise, showcasing expertise in freehand blowing and cold working techniques.

From a contemporary perspective, the set functions as a standalone installation where the repetition of color and variation of form create a dynamic visual narrative. The metallic grey tone strikes a tension between opacity and transparency, while the volumetric arrangement of the pieces creates a play of density and void. An ideal proposal for refined settings, monochromatic compositions or interiors that engage with the sculptural design language of the 1970s.
